Jesus Christ: The Perfect Seed
Jesus Christ is the embodiment of perfection. There has been so much sin that’s entered the world, you could only wonder how God could forgive humanity. Many people attempt to make trades to regain peace with someone. “I’ll do this for you and we’ll be good now.” But what could humanity repay and sacrifice to God to regain that special relationship? The answer is nothing. Jesus, the virgin’s child, God’s only son, the perfect seed was the only way to reconcile our relationship with God. He came from God Himself and that’s why perfection dwelled inside of Him, because He is God. Jesus’ creation was perfect, but the way He lived his 33 years were absolutely divine, and that is why Jesus Christ is the Perfect Seed.
In John 14:6, Jesus referred to Himself as “The way, the truth and the light” and that He was the only passageway to get to God. The world is a foreign place to Christians. It is not our true home and we are surrounded by constant sin, and we even fall to sin multiple times ourselves. The hold that sin and evil has on this world is immense, but Jesus is the one person in all of history that never fell to sin. In Hebrews 12:2 He is called the “pioneer and perfecter of faith”. Not only did Christ begin true faith but He perfected it.
One lesson we can take from Jesus is fulfilling God’s Will and not our own. Romans 12:2 declares, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Jesus was born into this world like you and I, but sin didn’t leave a trace in His heart. From the jump, His mind was transformed and renewed to complete God’s good, pleasing and perfect will. Jesus’ sole mission on this Earth was to obey God and fulfill the purpose God destined for Him. No man, woman, or being lived life how Christ lived life. This is why He is the perfect seed and this is why Apostle Paul says this in Hebrews 5:9, “and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him.”
We know the source of the plant is the seed. In the same way in our lives, Jesus is the source of eternal salvation. He truly is the way, truth and life. In Christ’s faithfulness, He was made holy and through our faithfulness to Christ and the Lord, we too are deemed holy, despite our transgressions. Follow Christ, plant His seed inside your heart, and let that seed grow in your life, so you too can be God’s good and faithful servant. If we want to follow God, Jesus Christ is the perfect place to start.
